Ducati Scrambler returns to London’s Tobacco Dock for the 2017 Bike Shed event

Ducati will again return to the East end of London this bank holiday weekend for the 2017 edition of the influential Bike Shed event.

The event will be even bigger and better this year encompassing much more of the dockside buildings and outdoor space, adding even more unique bikes of higher quality, with most of them being show exclusives with plenty of reveals and launches, from the pro builders, shed builders and manufacturers.

Ducati Scrambler will bring to the capital a number of bikes from their Scrambler range as well as some specials. Bikes from the Scrambler range include the new Café Racer, the new Desert Sled and Full throttle.

Along with bikes from the current range, Ducati UK will also display a unique Scrambler sidecar outfit built by Watsonian sidecars. This is probably the only Ducati Scrambler sidecar outfit in the UK and was built as a one of special by Britain’s longest established sidecar outfits.

This year’s Bike Shed will also see two specials from Italian builders, South Garage Motorcycle Company based in Milan and Anvil Motociclette from Parma.

South Garage reinterprets the Ducati Scrambler as a Café Racer, staying true to its DNA and its brand tradition well-known for work done with a "vintage racer" style.
The look develops along the original contours of the Scrambler without invasive work on the frame and chassis. The style is reminiscent of a modern and refined interpretation of "Steam Punk", in which the emphasis on craftsmanship, material selection, tones and finishes mix with conspicuous technical solutions.

The headlight fairing incorporates a new-generation LED headlight that matches the one on the rear embedded in the reconstructed frame. The handlebars can be adjusted in both height and tilt, and the footpegs can be shifted in 10 different positions, offering maximum modularity in terms of riding position, while the braking system has been improved through the installation of radial brake master cylinders that better feed the standard Brembo calliper.

The engine output has been optimised with a 2-1-2 exhaust system built to specifications. Rear swingingarm, spring and many other details were completely brushed and polished to emphasise the material aspect and to maximise the authenticity and classical flavour.
With the Special Scrambler R/T, Anvil Motociclette pays tribute to a motorcycle that in the 1970s performed honorably alongside the range of Scrambler models.
All these keywords - rough, austere, essential, American style – inspired the Anvil to customize the bike starting from a Sixty2, keeping the engine and part of the front frame and remodelling the rest.

"We wanted to pay tribute to this brilliant glory of Ducati, reinterpreting it in a modern key, as if modern motocross had taken a hard turn somewhere, bringing back certain stylistic quirks from the 1970s."

Starting from the front, the original alloy rims were replaced with two 21" and 19" modern motocross spoke rims, adapted to two shortened Kayaba forks to give the right proportions to the bike's silhouette.

The tank reflects the original shape of the 1970s model, modified to perfectly fit the modern frame. The handlebar recalls the classic shapes of those used in the competitions held in the California deserts, and the whole standard braking system was replaced with a Brembo floating calliper and 250 mm front disc on the front and a fixed 220 mm disc on the back.

The seat was designed and built along the lines of the original model, using cowhide to give the bike a "1970s American Stuntman" style.

There will also be on display clothing and accessories that complement the Scrambler brand, for more information visit https://scramblerducati.com/en
